Commencing in 2019 under the leadership of Professor Xiao-Hua Zhou, PCIC has been successfully organized five times. The inaugural conference unfolded in Beijing on May 11-12, 2019, followed by subsequent editions in Beijing on September 26-27, 2020, September 11-12, 2021, September 17-18, 2022, and September 16-17, 2023. Notably, the upcoming sixth edition will break new ground by being hosted in Shanghai for the first time. Moreover, PCIC 2024 is scheduled to be held concurrently with the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) in July 2024.

PCIC 2024 extends a warm invitation for both in-person and virtual attendance, acknowledging the evolving dynamics of global participation. The conference endeavors to serve as a dynamic platform for participants to disseminate their research findings, share insights, and exchange experiences related to causal inference. It also aims to foster collaboration and generate innovative solutions for the challenges and opportunities intrinsic to this dynamic field.
The conference program will encompass a diverse array of activities, including keynote speeches, invited talks, panel discussions, oral presentations, and poster sessions. In a significant development, PCIC 2024 will publish the independent conference proceedings for the first time. Accepted papers will be included in PCIC 2024 proceedings, which will be published in the Springer’s series of Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS), [Electronic ISSN: 1865-0937; Print ISSN: 1865-0929] which will undergo submission for inclusion in prominent databases such as EI, Scopus, DBLP, and Google Scholar. In addition, excellent conference papers will be recommended for publication in the special issue of the： Biostatistics & Epidemiology, the official journal of International Biometric Society-Chinese region (https://think.taylorandfrancis.com/special_issues/pcic-2024/). The selection of the papers will be made by the Scientific Committee of the Conference and will be gone through the peer-reviewed process at the journal.
